MD-KNEE is a Class III medical preparation in the form of an injection, based on type I collagen of porcine origin, in the form of tropocollagen.
It is used to support the body’s natural regenerative processes in connective tissues such as ligaments and tendons, which may have been damaged due to injury (e.g., trauma, surgery), aging, UV radiation, environmental pollution, and other factors that weaken collagen fibers.
The formulation also contains auxiliary substances that enhance the effects of collagen.
One of the key ingredients is arnica, a plant known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is particularly effective in treating inflammation caused by injuries, such as in the area around the knee joint. Arnica contains natural compounds (including faradiol, arnidiol, arnicin, and isoquercetin) that reduce pain and swelling and promote tissue regeneration.
Arnica’s sesquiterpene lactones, especially the IJ-5 lactone, have strong anti-inflammatory effects — for example, by blocking the action of factors responsible for inflammation development, such as TNF-α and the NF-κB pathway. Additionally, IJ-5 supports the body in inhibiting autoimmune responses.
